Turn Freebies into Cash System - Final Lesson

Now that we have covered a lot of the basics on Niche marketing it is time to find and choose products you wish to promote.

It is important to understand that just because you have chosen a profitable niche to target it does not mean that every product in that niche is profitable. Even the hottest niches have dogs so you must approach this with caution and skill.

Clickbank

ClickBank is the Internet's largest digital marketplace, where thousands of the web's most popular digital products are sold through every day. For an Affiliate this means you can simply sign up for a free account, browse the marketplace to find products you wish to promote. Generate an affiliate link for those products, then start promoting. You will earn a percentage of each sale you make through your affiliate link, this will be credited to your account immediately. You then receive a check twice a month from the balance of your account.

Now how simple is that.

There are other places you can find affiliate products, which I will cover in a minute, but since Clickbank is the most popular and my wish to keep things simple I will be using Clickbank as the main example through this guide.

As I have just mentioned there are other digital marketplaces that are similar to Clickbank eg. Commission junction, pay dot com. Some vendors choose to handle there own affiliate sales and program and not use Clickbank or any of the other affiliate managing companies.

While there is an increase risk to the affiliate not getting their commissions, due to dishonest vendors or the vendor going out of business, it is still worth considering the products of vendors that are well respected and have a good track record.

Domain Name & Hosting

Before we proceed further into the subject of domain names, hosting and auto responders, I wish to point out some important aspects that you need to consider about these Internet marketing services.

I have got for you a link to a free web hosting company and auto responder but I do not recommend that you build your business using these free services. Unless you are really pushed for cash and can not afford to purchase a domain name, hosting account and a auto responder account, or you just wish to put your toe in the water and test the whole internet marketing concept before you throw any money at it, then I do recommend that you purchase these three products for the following main reasons.

• A domain name, as it will then be yours and can not be taken away from you or just disappear over night.

• A quality Hosting account, you do not want to be pushing traffic to your site either through paid advertising or spending many long hours generating free traffic only to find the server your site is hosted on has been down for the last 6 hours or quite possibly a few days.

• Auto responder, have you heard the saying “the money is in the list” this is very true and something to be very mindful of. Your list is a great source of income that can be used in many ways over and over again and therefore a very valuable asset. If you have spent a lot of time building your list and marketing to them it makes good business sense to have a reliable auto responder that will get a high percentage of your e-mails through to your list and of course you would not like to wake up one morning to find the free auto responder service you have your valuable list on has just disappeared.

Now with all that said I have the links to the best of the best free services for those who wish to give them a go. It is also fair to say that you can also create sub domains on a paid hosing account, generally with no additional costs.

I have tested a number of these free auto responders and I have chosen one that has proven to have the best deliverability of them all but it still falls far short of the paid one that I will recommend shortly. This free Auto responder, does back up your data daily and you can also do this yourself, which I recommend you do even with a paid service to protect your investment. I will mention both these services when we get to the subject.

Anyway I will give these links to you after you have done some work on how to select a domain name.

Selecting a Domain Name

There are two options

• Setting up a separate domain name and for each affiliate product you promote.

• Having one domain name and one hosing account with sub domains for each affiliate product.

Setting up a domain name is the best option as you can choose a name that is very similar to that of the domain name that you are promoting. Which can give the impression to the prospective buyer that they are dealing directly with the vendor.

The second option in not so simple but a lot cheaper. First you will need to do a bit of brainstorming to come up with the best generic name that will suit a wide range of products in the niche you have chosen. eg.

If your niche market was search engine optimization then a generic domain name would be www.seotips.com. Then you simply add sub domains for each affiliate program eg. www.affiliateprogramname/seotip.com. I sometimes use sub domains or sub directories to test an affiliate program and then move them to their own domain if they are profitable.

You now have a few options, I hope I have not confused you here but there is no hard and fast rule. Just go with the option that you feel most comfortable with, what is more important is that you progress to the next step.

It is a good time now to register your domain name and hosting account as they can take a few days to propagate for paid services, so getting this done now will allow the propagation to take place while you are working on developing your site.

Firstly I will run through the process of a free domain and hosting account then I will do the same for a paid service.

Free Hosting Service

There are not many hosting companies that offer a free service and when they do there are usually conditions attached eg. Buy a domain and get hosting free, or you have forced popup and banner ads.

The problems I have found with most Free hosting services:

• Small disk space,
• Poor support
• Run banner and pop up ads on your site for free
• Require you to buy an over priced domain name from them.

It is very important that you have a hosting company that has good customer service with minimal down time. As you probably have gathered it is very difficult to find a free hosting company that does not have all these negative factors.

If you intend to use a free hosting service then I have found a good free hosting company for you.

With this company you can either get your own free sub domain or use one of your own existing domains or both.

It has good support, it has 2000mg disk space, no popup or ads of any kind, it also had MySQL data base plus much more. Get more details and sign up for your free account here www.110mb.com/.

With this free service you can be live within an hour of you choosing a program to promote.

Something to remember is that a sub domain does not affect your search engine rankings

Tip: With this free sub domain and hosting account, be aware that the account name you use to setup the account will become your sub domain name, so be sure to use the domain name you have decided on to create your account.

Paid Hosting

As previously mentioned if you go the paid route you will secure your assets and believe me you will spend many hours generating traffic to your sites so you will want security. Along with this, having your own domain name on your server looks more professional and will help people to take you more seriously.

The hosting service I use is called Host Monster they only charge $4.95 a month and you get a free .com domain and free domain privacy (these alone can cost you $15 to $20 a year). I can not recommend them more highly. Their service is second to none, you only have to go to a few hosting web forums and read the raving reviews to see what I mean. It comes with all the other features that all good hosting companies have.

Another thing to consider is that many hosing companies that offer a free domain name with every hosting account will not allow you, or make it very difficult to take the domain name with you if you decide to switch hosting companies. This traps you into staying with them especially if you have done a lot of work getting your site up in the search engines rankings. Host monster does not do this, you can take your domain with you.

So now you have all the info you need on hosting a domain names, you can make your choice and head over to one of them with your preferred domain name and create your account

Webpage development

Tip: Before you jump into creating your web pages it would be wise to read all the following sections and the recommended freebies that are mentioned, right through to and including the On Page optimizing section.

Now that you have the product you are going to promote, as well as a domain and hosting account, you now need to create web pages to promote the product you have chosen and then upload to your website,

I am going to show you how to create an Opt-In page, also known as a squeeze page, this is a single page that is designed to entice the visitor to enter their name and email address to get information on what they are searching for. Teaching you this method will help you to build your own list that you can market to on a regular basis while making cash from the sales from your affiliate product.

The Squeeze Page and Google.

Google has recently changed their algorithms that have adversely affected many single page squeeze page sites effecting the amount they have to pay for their clicks in their Pay Per Click (PPC) campaigns as well as affecting organic search rankings.

So that this does not happen to you we need to do things a little different than we would have done 6 months ago.

This is all very new, some affiliate marketers don’t even realize this and a lot that do know, don’t know what to do about it, so if you get this right you will have the jump on the competition.

HTML Editor

Now that you have your copy for your squeeze page/Opt-In page we now need to put it on a web page. You do this with the help of a HTML Editor.

A HTML editor is a software program that you use to create your webpage’s before uploading to your web server. HTML is the code that is widely used on the Internet.

A HTML Editor makes it easy for you, the simplest ones to use are WYSIWYG editors, this stands for What You See Is What You Get, this means that it is almost like using a word processor, you just create your page similar to the way you would a word document and the program creates the HTML code in the back ground for you.

You may have heard of the most popular HTML editors or you may already have one of them, Microsoft Front Page and Macromedia’s Dreamweaver.

These two programs are the most popular and they are not cheap but if you do not already have one of these there are some great free HTML software programs that will do a sufficient job for creating sales pages and squeeze pages and basic web sites.

You can always buy one of the other programs if you wish to get into building big elaborate web sites later on.

For the moment the free HTML editors I have listed here will be more than good enough to create the pages you will need to start making money online.

There are two options I have for you

The first one is

Nvu is relatively new and has been designed with the novice in mind and they also offer support.

The other is from Mozilla called Sea Monkey

I suggest downloading both and have a play around with them, then read and watch the following tutorials before you make a decision which you wish to use. Now that we have the software to create and edit web pages we now need to understand how to do this.


On Page Optimizing

Another aspect you must consider while creating your web pages is ‘on page’ optimization, what I mean by this is that search engines have a certain criteria it searches on which are called algorithms. These algorithms are made up of ‘on page’ and ‘off page’ factors. At this point we need to work on the ‘on page’ factors.

Copywriting

With what you have just learnt from the previous web page about squeeze pages and squeeze page copy it’s worth learning more on this subject before we start writing your copy.

This subject is very important to your success, to write some compelling copy to entice your visitors enough to eagerly enter their name and email address in order to get to your offering is a critical link in the chain.

Creating good copy will be the difference between you succeeding or failing so don’t take any short cuts here. I can not emphasize the importance of this point enough.

Copy writing is a talent that you will develop overtime with the right guidance and a bit of practice. I have a few freebies that will help this part and then combining what you learn from them and taking a few short cuts by coping other sales letters, you will be creating your own professional looking sales copy.

Now let me just clarify something here, what I mean by coping other sales pages, I don’t mean copy them directly. What I mean is this, why try and reinvent the wheel when you have heaps of templates that you can use, all you have to do is make them your own.

The best way to do this is to do a search in the Clickbank marketplace on the category you have chosen and in the field ‘sort by’ choose gravity, you can choose this from a the drop down menu in the search window.

Gravity is an indication of the amount of affiliates promoting the product and sales being made, the higher the number the better. Now go through all the top products and view their sale pages, try to put yourself in the mindset as if you where looking at buying the product.

As you go through them just take notice of your own reactions and feelings, which ones made you feel more compelled to find out more. Then print these ones out and use them as your guide.
Now before you jump right in I have some freebies for you that will teach you the art of writing great copy.

Now I hope you have read Ken’s great free e-book the Netwriting Masters Course on pre-selling and selling. It is important that you learn the difference. Being an affiliate you will be pre-selling more than you will be selling but it is worth learning both for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, it will help you recognize a good sale page when you are searching for products to promote in the future. Secondly, writing sale copy will also come in handy when you might add a giveaway bonus you have created to help increase your Opt-In rate, so in this case you will pre-sell the affiliate product but hard sale your free bonus.

In doing so you will be on Perry’s list, you will find that you will start to get some info sent to you other than the 5 day email course. This is what people do with lists and Perry is a master at persuasive email marketing.

The good thing here is not only do you get some quality info but you can study the guru of guru’s on how he works his list, it’s like a course within the course. In fact signup to all Perry’s free stuff.

Affiliate Link Cloaking

Next we need to learn how to cloak our affiliate links.

As an affiliate you will be working hard researching products to promote spending time setting them up and promoting them. So when someone comes across your affiliate link and from all your hard work wishes to purchase the product you are promoting, don’t you think you deserve the commission that is rightfully yours. Yes of course you do.

Affiliate cloaking has become necessary and good business sense. Cloaking your affiliate link helps to increase your conversion rate by firstly getting rid of the long ugly looking URL that is obvious to everyone that it is an affiliate link. It is a fact that the majority of people just seem to not like paying someone a commission even though they will not pay any more for the product, having your affiliate link displayed also opens you up to a greater possibility of having your affiliate id changed to someone else’s.

Now that we have created the HTML file that contains your hidden affiliate link that should be sitting on your hard drive in a folder or your desk top, we can now create a form that will collect names and email addresses. We then will insert this form into your webpage. To create this form we need a auto responder.

Note:- The HTML File you have just created with your hidden affiliate code will need to be uploaded to your web site, this we shall do later when we upload all your files to your web server.

Auto Responders

As I have mentioned your auto responder will be holding your most valuable asset, your list. Another important point is that when you mail out to your list you may find with a free service the percentage of emails delivered can be quite low this is mainly due to all the spamming protection most people have on their computer nowadays..

Free Auto Responder

So with that said I can not recommend you to use a free auto responder service although for those of you that wish to give them a try I have found FreeAutobot to be the better one from the testing that I have done.

Paid Auto Responder

If you decided on going for a paid Auto Responder service you can not go past AWeber it is regarded the best and is used by most of the guru’s. It has over 99.9% deliverability on emails and has an excellent menu system that makes it very easy to use, this is very important point for those of you that have not had any experience with auto responders before.

At the moment I am using the auto responder at 1shopping cart but I am looking at changing to AWeber as they get a higher percentage of emails delivered and they are cheaper.

Once you have your auto responder account setup there two main tasks you will need to do to complete this next step. They are….

• Create an auto responder e-mail series
• Create and add a Opt-In form to your squeeze page

Auto Responder E-mail Series

I have explain the virtues of a list, it is the difference between making some money and making serious money from your Internet business.

The auto responder you signed up to will have easy to follow steps on how to do this.

Creating & Adding An Opt-In Form To Your Webpage

Now that you have your auto responder and your hidden affiliate link file, it is time to add the Opt-In form to your squeeze page.

Both the free and paid auto responders that I have mentioned have step by step instructions on how to create your form code. Aweber has a video tutorial on this process.

When you get to the step that asks you the page you want the visitor to be directed to after they Opt-In, some auto responders call it your thank you page (after they enter their name & email address and press the submit button) this is where you add the address to the HTML file that contains your hidden Affiliate link.

We have yet to upload this HTML file to your web server but that is ok, we can still enter the address of where it will be.

The address will be http://www.yourdomainname.com/yourfilename.html

Where the address says yourdomainname enter your new domain name.

Where it says your file name enter the name you gave your HTML file that contains the hidden affiliate code.

Tip: If you are using the free hosting service then drop the www. It will then look like this http://yourdomainname.110mb.com/yourfilename.html

With Aweber you have the option of creating many different form types eg. pop ups, pop over’s and in line forms. For the type of squeeze page we are creating the best option is an in line form meaning it sits within your web page and not on a separate pop up or pop under. So be sure to check this option when you come to it.

Once you have the form code from your auto responder the next step is to simply copy and paste the code onto your webpage.

To do this just open your squeeze page in your HTML editor, select design view or normal view from the tabs in the bottom left. Place the cursor where you wish to place the Opt-In form.

Next change the view to code or source by clicking the tag in the bottom left. Then without moving the cursor, paste in your form code.

Now go back to normal view and take a look if you need to centre it then watch video 5 in series 1 again to help you do this.

One final thing, just below your Opt-In form type in a one line privacy statement, something like, ‘Your details will not be sold, exchanged or given to any third party’. Have a look at a few other websites to get more idea’s if you wish.

Note: Finding the form code in Free Autobot can be a little difficult you will find it in the help file in the add lead window.

Congratulations, you now have a form on your page that when someone enters their name and email address it gets stored in the data base of your auto responder account, also the first of your e-mail series will be delivered to them. On top of this the person is sent to the sale page of the product that you are promoting and the best thing is that it is all on auto pilot.

Next step is to add a traffic counter to our site

Traffic Analysis

Tracking you traffic is a critical aspect of a successful online business.

Tracking tells you where your traffic is coming from what keywords are the most popular, what pages are being viewed the most. All this information helps you work out your all important conversion rates.

This is what will make the difference between you making a few dollars and making your dream income.

Now, to actually get the traffic data to analyze, you will need software that does this for you. It is quite simple, you just imbed a code into your web pages, this code is generated from a web base software program and that is it. After that you just log into your account, as you wish, to get the stats.

With these stats you are then able to track your conversion rates. The two conversion rates that are most important is your Opt-in rate and sale conversion rate.

To get your Opt-In percentage rate (Percentage of people that have entered their name & email address on your squeeze page compared with those that didn’t) is simply the amount of people on your list, over a specified period of time, divided by the amount of unique visitors to your squeeze page over the same period of time, multiplied by 100.

The mathematical way to put this is: people on your list ÷ Unique Visitors x 100. The average for a squeeze page is 17%

Now to get your Sale page rate (Percentage of people that have bought compared with those in your Opt-In list that didn’t) is simply the amount of Sales you have made, over a specified period of time, divided by the amount of people on your list, over the same period of time, multiplied by 100.

The mathematical way to put this is: Sales ÷ people on your list x 100.

The average for a sale page is about 2% to 3% a good sale page will convert around 5%

You should check your stats weekly and if your squeeze page is not getting at least the average conversion then you should tweak it a little at a time and watch for any increase or decrees in the conversion rate.

If the conversion at the sale page is not good then you need to look at the keywords you are using and your presale. If you believe that this is generating the right targeted traffic to the sales page then you will have to seriously consider whether you should continuing promoting the product. Especially if you are spending a lot of time getting traffic to your site or spending money on paid advertising. It would be better spent on a better converting product. This is why tracking your traffic is critical. It makes it easy to find the dogs and dump them and ramp up the winners.

Another stat that is important to monitor is the keywords that people are using to come to your site. This will help you know which are the best keywords and keyword phrases to focus on in your advertising.

There are a few Free Traffic counter tools available but I have found these two to be the best:

Stat counter

Stat counter is very easy to use and setup but the problem is that they only show the last 100 logs, if you want to see more, then yes, you guessed it, you have to pay, but I have found that it is quite satisfactory to begin with and at this stage is the one I use, you can check it out here. www.statcounter.com It has a very simple to follow step by step setup that will create your code. Once you have your code just follow the same steps to as you did with the form code in the previous section to paste it into your web pages.

Google analytics

Google analytics has a great free traffic analysis tool and has no log restrictions, it is a little more complicated to set this up than stat counter but if you spend the time going through the very comprehensive tutorials you will be rewarded with great statistics.

I tend to use stat counter as I find it the simplest to use.

Add a Privay Statement

Upload Your New Website To Your Server

The next few steps are important to be carried out in the order that I have presented them.
Now is the time to upload your pages to your web server. We do this with the help of a FTP software program. There are a few free FTP programs around, I use Filezilla.

You will need your FTP details and your user name and password for your hosting account.

These details would have been sent to you by e-mail just after you created your hosting account.
Make sure you upload all your pages including the blank Link Page and Site Map page. These 2 pages should just have a title at the top stating what they are. Don’t forget to also upload any graphics or audio you have created or used on your pages.

Now the exciting part going on the web to check if your site is working.

Once on your new site go through all your links and make sure they all work. If they do not go back to your HTML editor and bring up the page that the link is on and check that you have the address properly entered to the address where the page is located. Then check that the page is actually where it should be on the server.

Broken Link Checking

Broken links on your site effects the search engines ability to search your site properly and therefore will effect your search engine rankings. Sometimes you will not pickup some of the broken links by just clicking around so it is wise before you generate your site map to do a broken link check by using a free software called Xenu. I have used this for all my sites and is invaluable especially when you start creating pages with 50 to 100 pages with 100’s and even thousands of links.

Site Map

Site maps are very important as search engines love them plus Google offers a free tool that checks your site map for errors which is great to know so that you can fix any problems if Google does not like it. This tool also has many other statistics that are very helpful.

It is a good video that gives you the basics but the Site Map generator that he uses only produces the site map in xml format, which is fine for Google but many other search engine use different formats to search your site.

The one I use produces your site map not only in xml format but also in ror and text formats as well as in HTML which you can insert on you site map page for your visitors to see. The others you just upload to your root directory (which in most cases is the public.html folder)

Once you have upload the xml, ror and text files to your server then open your HTML editor. Next, open your site map page you created earlier and then open the HTML file that the site map generator created. Then in the code view on both of these files, paste the code from the site map generated file to your site map page.

Once you have done this you can upload it using your FTP software and over write the old page.
Congratulations!!! You now have a fully operational affiliate site that has been optimized for search engines, live on the web just waiting for visitors.

Now Lets start work on generating traffic

Traffic Generation

I know I have said this on a number occasions about other parts of the process but I have to say it again here, Traffic generation is one of the most critical parts of the whole internet marketing process, you could have a fantastic product with a well designed and written squeeze page but if you don’t know how to generate traffic to your site then all your previous work will have been for nothing.

There are many ways to get traffic to your site, this can be done by posting in forums, blogs, bulletin boards, social bookmark sites, you can even use normal advertising in newspapers or magazines. This is all great but the best way to get serious traffic is through the search engines and this is done by either paying for it or through organic search engine traffic (free traffic).

I will be covering both paid and free search engine traffic.

Firstly I will focus on Organic traffic which will take in some of the tactics I have just mentioned eg. posting in forums, blogs, bulletin boards, social bookmark sites, as these activities help your search engine rankings when done a certain way..

Search Engine Optimization

On page optimizing is only a small percentage of what you need to do to rank high in the search engines, this we have already done. Off page optimizing is a much bigger task and takes many hours of consistent work.

There are many tricks and little known secrets that I have found from different guru’s, so lets get started.

This is a big subject so this will take some time to learn and the quickest and best way for you to progress through this is for me to pass on the best relevant information by giving you the links to all the information to read and watch on this subject.

I will not try to bombard you to much but if you go through it all at your own pace you will come out the other end with the necessary knowledge for you to implement the off page tactics.
I know you will be wanting to get into it but you must understand the basics so that when I give you links to certain strategies and software, you will understand why you need to do it and how to carry it out. This will lead to a more efficiently and effectively outcome.

Since Google is the major search engine and is the hardest to get top rankings it is what the following tactics will be targeted at. Doing this you will find your rankings will look after themselves in the other search engines anyway.

Another aspect with off page optimizing is what I call the Google dance. Let me explain, the most affective way to carry out most of the off page optimizing tactics is to do the processes manually because some of the software that automates these processes can be detected by the search engines and rendering all your work useless or a waste of time and money.

This creates a dilemma, that is best seen as a challenge, there is just not enough hours in a day to do a quarter of the processes required to get you to the first page on popular search terms, making automation necessary.

The trick is to automate the process that will not lose to much relevance with Google once it has been automated. This is a process that needs evaluating consistently. Using automation, if you push it to hard, can risk the search engines picking it up and your site being penalized and your work going to waste.

When an new automated process is put out in the market and the increase of people use and abuse that particular process Google changes their algorithms and then the effectiveness of that automation disappears, this is the Google dance.

What I present here when applied in the manner I and the free reports and lessons describe and not abused, will help you win the Google dance resulting in truck loads of traffic.

Now that you have read all this info on off page optimization you will know now that you have to get many links that point to your pages, you would have also learnt that search engines put different importance or weighting on links, making some links more valuable to your search engine rankings than others. You have also learnt that there are many different ways of getting these links and not to go over board with one particular strategy otherwise you risk being penalized.

So now I will step you through strategies that will get these different links. This is a huge subject that is constantly evolving as the search engines change their algorithms. Some of these strategies I have found free software that will help you build your links quicker and easier.

A trap for young players is that they can get impatient and push to hard with one or a couple of link generating strategies causing their links to build abnormally fast in the eyes of the search engines. You must always remember when using automated processes to build links that link building should be built gradually day by day.

A good overall strategy to build your links is to use all of the following strategies in a systematic way. Allocate and commit a certain amount of time each day to carry out each link building strategy. This will prevent you standing out like a beacon to the search engines and help keep you under the radar.

I will run through each strategy giving you links to advice and software that will help the process where it is applicable. .

Reciprocal links

Reciprocal Linking is a very common way to get links pointing to your site but there are some things you must be aware of..

When you find link partners they will require you to have a link back to their site in return for a link back to your site from theirs. Remember how we created a links page and uploaded it to your server, this is what we have done this for.

To do this is simple, they will provide you with the details of their site plus the URL of the page they want the link pointing to, the anchor text, and a short description. These detail are then put on your links page and uploaded to your server. Your link partner will do the same with your details.
Sounds simple doesn’t it.

I will give you two ways of carrying out this process

The first is searching manually in Google for link partners.

Watching how to do reciprocal links manually will help you understand the process. I will then give you a link to a site that is free and speeds up the whole process. Understanding the process first will help pickup on how to use this software faster and more efficiently.

The second way is using service called Link Metro, this is a site that helps put reciprocal link partners together. Link Metro has a paid and free service for reciprocal link exchanging and is an excellent way to build reciprocal links quickly.

You should start by submitting an article a week for about six weeks. I know this may sound a lot but this is important. What will make you feel better is that you can start with using the articles that you wrote for your content pages on your website.

As you create more articles than the ones you have on your site it is worth creating another web page and add it to your site, don’t forget to link it to the other pages as you have learnt and you will also have to create another site map and over write the old and submit it to Google. This will tell Google that your site has changed and to come take a look. Google loves new content so it will help your rankings. Just follow the steps you learnt previously and don’t stress, after you do this a couple of times you will do it very quickly. I can create a new site map and upload it and submit it to Google in about 5 to 10 minutes, with my eyes closed and my hands tied behind my back. Well almost but I am sure you get the point.

Press Release

Press releases are another extremely effective way to get traffic and back links.

Now you know how to write a press release you now have to find an angle that will tie into the product you are promoting and at the same time be news worthy.

One way to do this is to read the papers and watch the TV news with the purpose of finding a fresh news story that you can tie in with your product. This takes a little creativity but give it a go I think you will surprise yourself due to all the focus that you have been putting into your subject over the last few days or weeks.

Blogging is an effective way to get traffic and can also help get your site indexed quickly, which I touched on earlier, although not as good as it was 18 months ago because of people spamming bloggs, it is still worth doing and when done correctly and not abused it is very effective.

The idea is to post comments and articles to your blog that has a link back to your site and then ping your blog. Pinging helps tell the search engine spiders that there is new content and since search engine love blogs you will find the spiders will come and crawl your blog very quickly resulting in them following your link back to your site.

Pingoat is a great site that distributes your ping to a number of large ping sites for you including your yahoo account.

Blog Commenting

Blog commenting is also another way to get back links from blogs.

Tag and ping

Tag and ping is a similar concept to blog and ping and is as affective as blog and pinging was 18 months ago.

Instead of blogs, social bookmark sites are used to create the back links.

You do this by creating accounts and book marking your site in these accounts, this creates a back link to your site.

Forums

Forums are great way to build one way back links and to also get direct traffic from.
